Father’s Day is a great time to celebrate “Dad!” It is also a great time to run a race together. Instead of the normal 5K distance, the Daddy Dash will be a 4.01 K, (every family needs a 401K, right) which is a little over 2.5 miles. The Daddy Dash will be run at 8:00 am on June 15 at the Pavilion at 875 State Park Road, Greenville. In keeping with the focus of families on Father’s Day, a portion of the proceeds will be directed to Bethany Services, Safe Families division and Piedmont Women’s Center.
Even though the name, and celebration, is geared toward Father’s Day, moms, dads, grandmoms and granddads, along with their children or grandchildren, are invited to participate. In fact, the awards will be based on children’s finish times, as long as their parents, or grandparents finish with them.
Registration is $1 for each year of a child’s birth, up to 15. For parents, and children 15 or older, the price is $15 per participant. If folks, parents and/or children, would like a shirt, that is available for $10, and must be ordered by May 20.
Registration is found at www.itsabouttime.run/daddydash.
- Male and Female 1st and 2nd places
- Award categories based on child running, so for a child to be eligible for the award, their parent must have run the race and accompany them across the finish line.
- Runners of all ages are welcome to run, but awards will only be distributed to those whose parents finish with them.
